Border Collies
Our Border Collies are utilized for herding, the show rings, and for search and rescue. Many of the puppies we have produced have gone on to successfully compete in agility, herding and obedience, as well as becoming terrific hiking & fishing partners.
Our goal is first and foremost to produce level-headed, biddable animals, dogs that want to please, but possess enough independence to think for themselves. Correct structure is critical to the dogs ability to perform his/her function over time, so that naturally is a factor as well in our breeding program. And to paraphrase an oft-quoted saying, "Life is too short to [herd] with an ugly dog," we strive for the prettiest dogs too, although that is not necessarily the first variable chosen!
To achieve these goals, we breed to the best Australian, European and British lines we can, selecting based on detailed research of dogs included in the pedigrees, as well as those with genetic testing performed.
